WHAT QUALIFIES FOR BATTERY WARRANTY (AND WHAT DOES NOT)
All battery manufacturers only cover internal factory defects (like an internal shorted cell or a battery that is fully charged to 12.5V+ and still cannot hold cranking power). Here are the two most important things every driver should know:
If you jump-start a battery below 11.7V and rely on driving around to charge it, the dead battery forces your alternator to run at maximum heat and output nonstop. This can burn out a $600 to $1,200 alternator, while never fully charging the battery!
To qualify for a warranty replacement, the battery must first be professionally bench-charged to 12.5V+. If we charge it up and it still fails to hold power, it qualifies as a bad battery!
• $25 / $40 / $60 Mobile Battery Valet: Can't remove the battery yourself? We will come pick it up, bench charge and test it at The Hub, and reinstall it. If your battery fails our test after charging and does not qualify for warranty, 100% of your Valet fee goes toward a brand-new battery!
